Plenty of people blog about concept mapping

I’ve not sorted through the 76,300 google hits for concept mappingblog yet, but at this number its clear people do blog about conceptmapping.

Yet I am troubled by the slowness of uptake on this site. Why do people not comment on the postings that are here?

  • Is the problem usability? Like, do people not find the controls they need? I appreciate the site needs some work, I even asked the IHMC whether there might be a budget to help.
  • Is the site language an issue? I appreciate everything is in English, but if I put the work in to make it flip to Spanish (maybe 1+ more will more people contribute?
  • Is the problem legitimacy? Would some sort of acknowledgement by the IHMC or Joe Novak help?
  • Is the problem need? Do people not have the need to communicate?
  • Are people in this sector just not used to blogging? But do we have a homogenous group, I don’t think so.
  • Is there some sort of conflict of interest? Karoline questioned as to whether academic principles of recognition by publishing through papers might be jeopardised.

So tell me, oh silent people! What do you think?
