Palm Forums “will debut in early January”

Around the start of December http://Palm.com (makers of the Palm Pilot, Palm Treo etc) took their user forums offline, promising they’d be back soon. Now they say we need to wait till early Jan 2007.

What’s with a company that size taking its forums offline? Minimally I would expect them to make them read-only if they are too cheap to do effective content cut-over.

The Palm Treo 650 does not synchronize with Outlook 2007 Beta2, and Palm are saying nothing about why. Beware!

I find it just astonishing that a company as professional as Palm could leave this problem unsolved for so long. There is a solution, just that we, the consumers, are being asked to pay for Palm’s tardiness.

I call to Palm to offer a heavy (>70%) subsidy on the 3rd party solution. (PocketMirror)

The total cost of ownership of this device is already higher than competing products.

I’d urge Palm to not just ignore this problem, for we all have a lifetime of purchases ahead of us and it is Palm’s reputation at stake.
